They're fairly simple to make, easy to care for, and beautiful to look at.

One question many would-be bottle gardeners have when starting out is: where can I find something suitable to start a bottle garden in? The answer is: just about anywhere. But if you're having trouble finding just the right container, here are some ideas for places to search:

-- Aquarium supply stores or pet shops: Any place that sells fish tanks or aquarium supplies is a great place to find containers for your bottle gardens. These places don't just sell plain old rectangular tanks anymore. You can find shapes such as hexagons and tubes and even large, round goldfish-bowl style aquariums. Any of these would make a great setup for your bottle garden.

-- Garage sales: It's amazing what people get rid of, and occasionally you can find old glass bowls, wine jugs, and glass canister sets. Don't be afraid to think creatively. Almost any attractive glass container can be transformed into a beautiful bottle garden.

Other great places to look are candle shops, party supply stores, and flea markets, dollar stores, and even your own basement or attic.
